This is the Dawes Arboretum

Well, it's part of it anyway. There are over 1,000 acres of the Dawes Arboretum, so it's kind of hard to get a full view pic unless it's aerial. This pic is from the Central Gardens. I used to work here and the people who are responsible for the decisions suck! Sad but true! It is the only Arboretum I've heard of that has NO Arborist...that's a tree specialist. And they seem to be determined to chop as many trees as possible down and turn the place into a BOTANICAL GARDEN. Maybe it's me, but if it was intended to be a botanical garden, I don't think they would have named it the Dawes ARBORETUM!!! Really?? Yes, REALLY!

Ok, nuff bitching...on to the pics

A weeping White Pine in the Evergreen Display

ok, this is a pic of my favorite tree, so it's going to be full size. This is a Higan cherry at the Dawes Lake

There are actually 3 lakes, or ponds actually at the Dawes Arboretum, but this is the one everyone thinks of when you say "Dawes Lake". There is also the Japanese Garden Lake (pic to come later) and the Education Center Pond (pic to come later). I litterally have hundreds of pictures of Dawes, but that's all I have for now...don't worry, I will add more later!!
